User Names and profile information are not published and are accessible only by administration for the purposes of maintaining the website. While we take precautions to protect submitted information, please be aware that electronic communication such as online forms and emails are not fully secured methods of communication. When using our counseling scholarship program, be informed that we may request Counselors or church staff members to verify client attendance via email or landline. We will only request that information which is pertinent to our records and do not wish to receive information on client progress. We keep client-specific counseling scholarship records on file for five years, and then the records are destroyed. For information on client confidentiality, please see the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors Code of Ethics and/or the Code of Ethics of the Counselor's professional organization.

 

 

Whenever possible, the TBA requests documented proof of license, certification, or other credentials from all Counselors in the database and verifies this information with that Counselor's credentialing agency. This verification is offered as a free good-will service to the community by the TBA, and the TBA is not responsible for oversights in gathering proof of a counselor's Credentials or in reflecting changes in a counselor's credentialing status. The TBA asks that each Counselor provide a copy of his or her current license or certification proving eligibility to provide counseling services legally in the state of Texas. Subsequently updated copies of this documentation must be received by the TBA no later than the date of expiration of that license or certification. If this documentation is not received by the deadline listed above, that Counselor will be removed from the database. We do not require proof of malpractice insurance from Counselors, and we recommend all potential clients check with their Counselor regarding their possession of malpractice insurance. Questions, concerns, and comments about a Counselor's eligibility to provide counseling services and/or counseling services received from a Counselor affiliated with this site should be fielded to that counselor's professional organization or licensing board.
